It appears that many Hillary Clinton supporters are not being won over by the Democratic nominee for president, rookie Senator Barack Obama. A group known as Puma Pac has been formed to voice the displeasure of many with the Democratic party’s handling of the nomination process that has culminated in nominating an uber left wing and inexperienced Barack Obama as the party’s candidate. The acronym PUMA originally stood for Party Unity My Ass, but the PAC has softened that to a more peaceful sounding People United Means Action.

Now, PUMAs apparently come in all types of variety. There are even PUMAs who will go as far as advocating for other PUMAs to vote for Senator John McCain. Of course, I support that position; in my opinion, while McCain is not perfect, he’s certainly a better choice than a big government socialist. (Obama was ranked the most liberal member of the US Senatebased off his voting record.)
Let’s look at the PUMA related site JustSayNoDeal.com. In a press statement released today, the Just Say No Deal Coalition writes:
Just Say No Deal is an umbrella organization giving voice to over 80 grassroots organizations, blogs and millions of self- professed PUMAs (Party Unity My A_ _) intent on one mission: NOBAMA! Coalition members are pushing varying agendas and voting strategies, but the factions are united in their unwavering decision to not “fall in line” by supporting Barack Obama.
Concerned citizens have come out of the woodwork to express their distaste for and frustration with party leaders and the outcome of the nominating process. The Just Say No Deal website offers those voters an array of choices to assist in their decision-making process. The coalition will continue to organize in pursuit of its mission of keeping another unqualified candidate from inheriting the Oval Office.
In another press release, the coalition states the following:
Literally millions of frustrated, disenfranchised and gritty activists, to include Democrats, Independents as well as naughty Republicans have already come together for one common thing…
”We Will Not Vote For Obama Period.”When asked, “Should Hillary become the nominee for VP, would you then cast your votes for Obama?”
Answer: One goal, one mission…NOBAMA Period.
Is this a real problem for Obama or just a few disgruntled and vocal Clinton supporters?
Susan Duclos over at the Wake Up America blog takes a closer look at the difficult choice that many democratic voters are having voting for someone as inexperienced and liberal as Barack Obama or voting for the Republican candidate. She sites many sources and her article leads me to believe that this is a real issue for Obama. These voters are too smart and care too much about our country to fall in line and vote for an ultra left wing and inexperienced candidate for our president regardless if he’s the media’s darling.
Ms. Duclos points out that Hillary Clinton supporters have to look no farther than Senator Clinton’s own words:
The problem for Clinton now is that she has already told her supporters that Barack Obama was not prepared to lead this country and was too inexperienced to hold the position of presidency. She has told them that in would be like “on the job training”, she has insisted that she and John McCain were prepared from day one to run the country, going as far as to say, “Senator McCain will bring a time of experience to the campaign. I will bring a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama will bring a speech he gave in 2002.”
Her speech will be important because she has to somehow justify to her supporters how she either misrepresented herself or that over the last few months Obama has developed new experience in running the country.
Cristi Adkins of the PUMA associated Clintons4McCain.com website even appeared on Hannity and Colmes last night. Adkins is also a spokesperson for JustSayNoDeal.com. Watch the interview for yourself:

The democrats need to wake up and put their best candidate forward to run against the Republicans. I can’t believe the weak willed democrats selected Obama over Hillary. Neither of them won the necessary votes on their own to clinch the nomination. It was up to the weak willed democratic insiders (Super Delegates) to select the most electable candidate against the Republicans in the fall. The Nancy Pelosi tea party went with the groovey guy instead of the qualified lady. Barack only has 153 days in the senate. That’s not enough experience to cut hair in Missouri. The super delegates knew better than to nominate Obama but they just couldn’t stand up to the Obama cult. When Obama bowed out of public financing after praising it and promising to adhere to it, I will never believe a word he says again. He can promise all the wonderful changes he’ll bring to the country but I’ll always see him as a man of broken promises. Reverend Wright and Farrakan - as much as I disagree with them - don’t lie like Obama. Obama threw Farrakan, Reverend Wright, and his grandmother under the bus and he will do the same for the country if it doesn’t serve his needs. Puma is going to hold the whiney democrats accountable and, NO, we won’t get over it. We love our country too much.
